Raging Pavlovian response here!!
...on facebook. My husband, who was in his office contacts me & says "you have to make that apple thing" & this other thing, too, &..." So he has virtually dog-eared the pictures for me to bake from first! I had to remind him about the decadent French Toast & bread pudding I make with Challah. "That's right, but that apple thing...when did you say the book arrives?"
I think I'm going to be busy baking from your book this winter...& apple season is almost here. I'm thinking "that apple thing" is awesome made with Mutsu's & I bet he's already gps'd a trip to Tehachapi to get them.
The book looks amazing~can't wait!

The way your husband feels - like a kid in a candy store - is exactly the way I used to feel (and still do) whenever I stepped inside one of those old-school family owned bakeries, not knowing what to try first. I'm so pleased he reacted this way and will be happy to help you over any bumps you encounter as you go through the book. ... And that goes for everyone.
Stan
PS: I didn't know they grow apples in Tehachapi, which isn't all that far from San Diego, but fortunately, Julian is a lot closer <s>
Stan,
A lot of apples are grown in Tehachapi & for me it's only an hour away...San Diego would be about 5 hours!
Thank you for your offer to assist if needed...that's very generous of you! Again, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the book!

Join me tomorrow morning 9am ET on WKBK AM 1290/FM 104.1 FM out of Keene, NH, as I talk with Chef Luca Paris about INSIDE THE JEWISH BAKERY and take listener questions on “What's Cooking with Luca.”
Stan
Although I can't find a streaming link on the WKBK site, I have found the page the WKBK announcer puts up recordings of the Luca Paris shows: http://mrg.zzari.net/Podcast/Dan_Mitchell/?C=M&O=D
So, hopefully those of us out of earshot will be able to listen after the fact.

They all look soooo good. And the apple things yes!!! They really need to be made!
I can see that I will be busy all winter, especially if my Son in Law sees the book, I had to make him a kuchen because he found a cooking mag in my bathroom!
Stan I love the Book!! It brings back warm memories of the way bakeries should look and smell. I recently went to a friends club of Jewish women and brought the book. It was a hit.
Thanks to you and Norm for the secrets of utlimate baking. Pam Iles
