Hello from Toronto!

Not to be cliche with the subject and greeting, but hi all - long time lurker, first time poster! I've always come to The Fresh Loaf as my first port of call when looking for bread ideas, bread troubleshooting, or just bread photos when I'm hungry lol.

Thought I'd finally make an account and start posting for... well, no particular reason, really. But I just had a breakthrough in this one bread that was causing me problems (after ~2 weeks of failures that went straight into the compost) so y'know. Wanted to brag to people who would understand. My one bread-making friend is off on his honeymoon, and my own husband is supportive but he's not a bread baker (yet) so he doesn't quite get it.

Fun fact, I'm actually predominantly a cakes/cookies/sweets baker, especially since those are usually easier to pawn off onto coworkers. During the pandemic lockdown years, my baking output dropped down to nearly nothing since, as an office worker now working from home, I didn't have anyone to give the excess to anymore! So while the rest of the world was really getting into home baking, I was doing the least amount of baking in my life since maybe high school.

Greetings from down the road, in the Niagara Peninsula.

Are you going to tell us about your success and how you achieved it? It's always useful to know what a problem was, and how it got solved.

Oooh Niagara! I am actually down there with relative frequency, since my bread friend lives there.

And I finally figured out how to put photos in, so I wrote a blog post about the bread success! There were a lot of problems since I was trying to do multiple new (to me) things at once haha.

Happy New Year!

Didn't realize you were also in Toronto - I always love seeing your breads. They look so good! Every time I see them, I always say to myself that I hope I can get that good haha.

How would you know!  If you just keep baking you will get the results you want to achieve.  Happy New Year
