Seeds in my starter
I use dark rye non seeded flour. I found seeds in my starter. How did they come in? This is a mystery. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Or do you buy Flour? A photo might help.

But i'm thinking along the same lines as Kooky. If you do grind your own flour I often find that rye grains do come with these small "seeds" which needs to be sorted through and discarded. Not sure what they are.
If you're buying ready ground flour then it's a bit more of a mystery. Have you checked through the packet. You only seem to be noticing them in the starter! Try sifting through some flour first.

I recently started grinding all my flour and I have to hand sort it every time. I run it over a coarse sifter to remove dust and larger debris, then I pour it from bowl to bowl to spot any remaining debris. It's time consuming, I've complained to my supplier recently.
I've never had seeds in any store bought flour. If it's organic it'll be more likely because otherwise they use pesticides to kill off every single thing that isn't the very product they're trying to harvest.
As a natural product it's not unheard of. Picture? As mentioned above...

So that clears that up. You're buying ready ground flour. Have you tried sifting through the flour? If you don't find any in the actual flour but they're appearing in the starter then it's an even bigger mystery.
Is it possible for you to post a photo of your starter?
I cleaned my starter completely so no more seeds in it (so far?)
Check the flour. Sift some flour and see if there is anything in there. If not, it won't end up in your starter. If you do find anything then you might wish to check with the company.
Then the rest of us can see the seeds you mention. That will help with identification.

I cleaned my starter thoroughly. No seed left (I hope)
have you tried the site search engine? Little round black seeds? Try searching: weed seeds

Another one

If the seeds reappear (I hope not) I'll take a picture and I'll learn how to insert an image because the one I inserted didnt show
you may need a photo resizer app like "image size" because the site restricts size.
Most appreciated
