Pièce de résistance
This weeks Roadside Pie King master piece...
Fresh Corn beef Pie.
The Filling:
cabbage, onion, potato and carrot. Gravy from the beef drippings. Filling was sautéed in the beef fat with a little added lard. Yum! I put the beef on top so every slice is nice and meaty. Looking good.
As one can plainly see, the filling is just about as perfect as one could hope. Moist yet not runny at all. Smile......
Looks delicious. Despite my love of baking pies, I still haven’t made a savory one yet, might have to soon.
is futile. I love pies.
Well, Ms. Bread_To_be,
I would be willing to bet that one taste of this master peice, world wrench a body righ back out of the collective! He,he...I am such a dork!
And that's after having had bread pudding for dessert.

Truth be told I am not 100% happy the pastry, could have used a bit more water. Last time I made this pastry, I went to wet then added some flour as I kneaded it a few times on the bench. The pastry came out perfect! This is why I need to write notes. I remembered this tidbit too late. This one came out perfect.
I could eat so much of that I would likely get sick and toss my cookies. Oh man that looks good!
I make a mean shepherd's pie a la chef ramsay. Dishes like that are total comfort foods. Nicely done!
Keep posting!
Here is a filling you may find interesting. Savory Pumpkin pie. pumpkin, rice and tuna,
Very interesting indeed. I've never seen a kooky combo such as that. Which would make me want to try it even more. Haha.
It was very good, next time less rice and a bit more squash. (Any red is called pupmpkin)
