Membership fee to get rid of ads?
Hey all, I go through phases where I have the head space to bake and then simply don’t and this site is such a wealth of knowledge and support that I love coming back and catching up. So thanks to the moderator and contributors!
The one thing that does get annoying is the ad space. Is there any way that we could set up an annual membership fee to support the creators and eliminate the need for the ads? How much money do the ads pay per each active user? I suspect the patron approach might be more reliable than ad revenue.
I might just be delusional, but I would happily support the site with a membership fee to have an ad-free experience.

I've never seen ads on this site, nor spaces for ads. My computer has an ad blocker, but my phone doesn't and I don't get ads/spaces on the phone either. Could it have anything to do with the browsers we use?
However, if you'd like to donate....https://www.thefreshloaf.com/node/74911/my-almost-annual-appeal-give-thanks-tfl-2024
As Moe C says, you just need a decent browser and ad blocker. I'm using Vivaldi with uBlock Origin and I don't see any ads.
I also have Chrome without an adblocker for reference purposes and I find it almost impossible to browse many websites, not just TFL.

I've definitely considered implementing such a solution in the past. Your suggestion is noted.
At the moment I'm trying to get the site ported to a new version of the CMS. I've been working on it 10-20 hours a week on weekends and evenings since mid-summer. I am not contemplating new features at this point, just trying to get everybody and everything from the old system to the new and make it look not too terrible before the old software hits EOL on January 5. That is coming very soon.
