Lee Household Flour Mill coming back

Figured this deserved its own thread...

Lee Household Flour Mill from organicsbylee.com

From the other thread:

It looks like the new model had some improvements.  I like the idea of a smaller footprint, that was one downside of the older models.  I like the idea of a flour bowl, though when you read the manual, you see that it uses a cover while running, I made something similar for my older model, I didn't like trying to get all the flour out of the collection bag.   Also the on off switch is a nice upgrade.

Disclaimer: I did a little work on the website so I'm very biased! These guys put are putting a lot of TLC and engineering brainpower into making it great.

Nick, the website is nice, though the link for the how to guide did not work for me.

It looks really good. Do you know if the mill is made in the USA?

Link should work now, the note was out to the developer - I jumped the gun on my response. Pre-orders coming in, excited for launch!

I've read it will make corn meal but the corn needs to be cracked as it can't handle a grain that large.

CIB,  I wanted to send you a pm, but you have not registered your email address with your user profile.  There is an S-600 on sale on ebay now, it is adjustable, and looks to be complete, other than the feed hopper and flour sack.   http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEE-S600-ELECTRIC-GRAIN-MILL-HOUSEHOLD-FLOUR-GRINDER-Fine-Coarse-Adjustable-NR-/231810088399?hash=item35f8f53dcf:g:y5oAAOSwHaB...

Thanks I'll keep an eye on it. A good used one is right up my alley.

Nick thanks for the advice I've got access to a grain cracker so that shouldn't be a problem.

How do I register my email? I have it setup to email me when comments are made.

If you go to your account, then hit the tab edit,  about 2/3rds the way down there is a check box that says receive email notifications of Private messages.  If you see the line that says Private Messages, but not the box, click on the words Private Messages, and the box should appear.

RE: CORN: Yellow field corn kernels may be too large to fit through the governor mechanism of most electric flour mills. Consider using a corn grinder to crack your own corn, purchasing cracked corn, or grinding smaller pop corn kernels.

I got one from craigslist, it has the bag but missing the hopper.

Also still can't find the option to enable emails from users.

Next challenge is finding a replacement hopper. It looks like a standard plastic hopper on the old ones but has a 2 inch opening.

Cib,  congrats,  send me a pm and I will give you some ideas about a hopper.

CIB,  on mine, there is a little arrow directly above picture which says " Private Message"   When you click that arrow, you get a box to check.  I checked the FAQ  and did a search, but did not find out how to activate.  I suggest you send a PM to Floyd
