spiral mixer rotation

I have just bought a spiral mixer, it has bowl rotate anticlockwise and clockwise options. Does anyone know what are the difference with those? Thank you.

Left handed bread.

(I am sure someone who knows will be along to answer that seriously)

It's actually called Chiral Bread or L-Bread. As the L-isomer of bread, it is the enantiomer of the more common D-bread.

L-Bread does not occur naturally, but can be synthesized by a left turning mixer. L-Bread is indistinguishable in taste from D-bread,[1] but cannot be used by living organisms as source of energy because it cannot be phosphorylated by hexokinase, the first enzyme in the glycolysis pathway.

I think it is used to help evenly distribute the dry ingredients and when taking the dough out it moves the dough out of the spiral and towards the operators.

Gerhard has it right, the reverse mode is intended to unwrap the dough from the spiral thereby making it easier to remove from the bowl. It must be a fairly serious machine to have this option, it's not found on lowend units. does it also have  2 speeds and a double timer?

Have fun with that.

Maybe so it looks normal to both those in the northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere haha. I think the unwrapping thing makes the most sense.
