Scott style WFO on a farm
Hi all,
My husband and I are finishing up our wood fire oven. The project has taken a lot longer than expected but we are both pleased with where it has taken us. We had on oven like this built at our house in Houston. We moved and bought our forever farm and decided to build a new oven! So I was just going to share some photos of the project. I can not wait to start baking in it! We poured the cladding last week. So now to just finish up the sides and put a top on it! :)

I got so darn frustrated about it last night I just left it! I was going to embed the pictures and give a little info about them but that was beyond me!
I admire people who have the time, energy and skill to create something like this! I always hope it is somebody in my area looking for a "baking friend". Good luck with the remainder and please document the first bakes!
This project involved a lot of head scratching. And it is by no mean perfect but I am excited to start baking in it! I am pretty much all sourdough and am hoping that will give me the time window I need to bake the best I can in it. I will definitely post pictures of future bakes!
That's a right purty oven. Purty tabby too.
If you're still in Texas you'll need a waterproof cover. Guess that's next...,
Wild-Yeast
Wild-Yeast thanks! I think it turned out pretty as well. That tabby is a sweet cat. She was enjoying sleeping in there in the beginning!
Yes, a waterproof cover is going to be a must. I would have a patio out there with enough room for a covered picnic table and a prep table. We shall see. Can't get too many projects ahead of my husband. The rain down here in Texas had been insane this year. And I just can't bring myself to say anything bad about it since I raise cows and went thru the drought a few years back. I am trying to learn to like mud!
Mud is beautiful. Everything is green and prairie fires less a danger. Blue tarps will suffice but need to be secured well otherwise they'll blow away to Kansas with the way the wild weathers been. Show us some photos when you inaugurate your first bake...,
Wild-Yeast
Looks amazing! Can’t wait to see what you will be baking out of it.
Thanks guys! I think we will cook some pizza tomorrow and try it out. I found my old baking notebook from when I had the other oven in Houston and am hoping it will help jog my memory a little!
