Buckwheat groats

Can I make buckwheat flour from groats or do I need the whole kernel...thanks

Are perfect. The whole kernel has a hard shell that doesn’t mill nicely and leaves chunks of black seed coat. Even remilling didn’t help. Save yourself the hassle and use groats.
