Testing...it's been a while ; )
Hello Freshloafers! It's been a while. I wanted to update a few things. Mainly me : ) Looks like I could use some practice posting !
Always nice to check in once in a while and see so many of my favorite bakers, baking!
Here's a little helpful hint I came up with for making a fast banneton for your loaves. Maybe other's have used this idea but I have never seen it. SIMPLY use the top half of an egg carton...walla, instant banneton. Just line it with parchment paper.
I baked 3 loaves today. Using trailrunners suggested use of the roaster pan. I wanted a fast heat up as these loaves were no particular formula. I just wanted to use up some extra starter. The roaster pan worked great, other than the loaves burning a little on the bottom. I sum that up to having to place the large RP in my larger bottom oven that heats from the bottom. I particularly liked the less heating time before baking. It's starting to warm up in San Diego.
I love French Macarons! This one simply has an eatable wafer I placed upon it. Lately I've been having fun doing artfully decorated cookies. A few can take hours of work. But I find it relaxing and enjoyable. They are best frozen and given away : )

the cookie! That cookie is too pretty to eat! Time to get that Pizza Oven fired up before it is too hot:-) Naw ....it is never too hot for baking outside. Love the egg carton Idea too! Nice to see you posting! I'm sure the bread was killer too.
Happy baking Sylvia!
put a big smile on my face and isn't that what friends and baking is all about!
I'm going to make a pizza this week. It's not going in the wfo. sorry to say. A Califlower crusted pizza. Yep, I'm baking cookies and on a carb cutting eating plan. My granddaughter is getting married this June and it's going to be a grand affair and so is my waistline! LOL... Got any good recipes? I would love a simple one with eggs!
Glad you liked the bread. Love it when I get those double Ears. Reminds me of my favorite baking doggie..lol..BTW got a new puppy almost 2 years ago. Daisy! Rescue of coarse and a beautiful mostly pap/mix. Bella is still with us..going strong and healthy at 15.
Mike says hello!!! He just walked in and is hanging a first place medal in my face : ) 60 plus masters category, time trial race.
Glad you liked the egg carton..I collect them mostly for starting a fire in the ol wfo!

So nice to see you posting !! I am so glad you like the roaster...I have loaves in mine right this moment and was debating posting :) Your cookie looks wonderful...way more talented than I am . I love your loaves. I raise my roaster up one level to prevent the burning as my oven heats from the bottom as well. Also I have the lift out rack inside and I leave it in there for more insulation. I hope you will post more...miss you. c
I loved the idea and adding the ice cubes! Wow! I love the short pre-heating time. That alone is worth a gold star, especially when the summer heat hits here.
Have a Beautiful Day!
