Quick Hamburger Buns

Quick Hamburger Buns

6 large buns

 

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1 cup warm water

2 tablespoon butter (room temperature)

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon sea salt

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1/4 cup dried milk or buttermilk powder

 

egg wash: 1 egg beaten with a splash of milk

poppy or sesame seeds

 

Add everything to bread machine, use the dough cycle. On a lightly floured counter, divide the dough into six equal pieces. Flatten into burger sized disks and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour.  Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Gently brush the buns with the egg wash and sprinkle with the seeds. Bake for 17-20 minutes until golden. Let cool on a wire rack.
