After an 8 year bread baking hiatus...
I think I've still got it!
Wisconsin's safer at home order has got me baking up a storm! Huge thanks to dabrownman for his NMNF starter method.
I won't share the first loaf...we'll call that tasty (but ugly) practice.
My whole wheat w/ flax meal was an experiment very loosely based on a recipe from Tartine No. 3. It was my first whole wheat loaf and was a nightmare to shape, but it turned out great!
The other two shots are Maurizio's Basic Sourdough. Today, I'm working on Maurizio's Country Sourdough w/ less levain and longer autolyse

Welcome, thanks for posting, and congrats on your return to baking. What nice looking loaves. I agree that you do not seem to have lost your skills.
Happy baking.

Thanks, Ted! Your bakes are pretty impressive too.
Kinda like riding a bike. After a long layoff, maybe a bit shaky around the edges, but we really never forget how to do it. These look great. And you picked a fine inspiration in Maurizio.
Thanks! I appreciate your kind words. Maurizio hasn't steered me wrong yet :)
Wow you still have it! After eight years not baking that is really impressive.

Thank you!
You inspired me to post again as well—I took a similar hiatus, and just made the same recipe! Nice work. Looks good! Looking forward to more.
I'm honored that you considered me an inspiration to get started again! You're loaves are looking beautiful!
