Advanced Bread and Pastry
Has anyone heard anything about the Michael Suas book? Amazon.com is telling me that it is having trouble getting it. The original publication date was April 4.

Isn't this the SFBI bread book that people were discussing here a couple of weeks back? I thought it was not out yet.
Amazon.com listed a publication date of April 4. Now they are saying they are having trouble getting it.
I am wondering if anyone received it directly from SFBI.
Colin
I've ordered this book from Amazon.com. They estimate shipping date of April 14. David
Its on preorder! Will report when recieved!
The book has already been published (on April 4), and the customer representative told me that they had just recently sent the books over to Amazon.com, so it may take a few more days for the books to get to us.
Be patient! (And enjoy the extra 5% discount as long as it hasn't arrived to Amazon HQ).

I am supporting the San Francisco Baking Institute and ordering the Suas book directly from SFBI. The cost is $60 plus $10 shipping and handling (plus tax if you live in California). If you send in your order this month (April) Suas will autograph your copy. Make checks payable to TMB Baking, 480 Grandview Drive, South San Francisco, Ca. 94080. I have taken their Artisan bread class and know the quality of their programs and people. If bread making is your passion skip Amazon this time.
I just got an email from Amazon.com, notifying me that the book has been shipped. Looking at their website, they are already out of copies, and will have more copies in stock in April 26.

It's still listed as an open order.

Today I got a shipment email from Amazon.com. So I will get it in time for my birthday.

It's a beautiful book; quite a heavy tome.
I'll look at it tonight.
