it;s almost 3 years since Lucy Passed on 11/11/2021

Checked in to get a recipe check on Lucy's orange, cranberry chocolate chip,  raisin, pecan cinnamon rolls.  Couldn't remember the hydration.  They are rising.  Made half of them plain when the Judy said she preferred her rolls, and men,  plain.  Will post some pictures tomorrow about tje y=the last 3 years,  Just got my 6 month checkup on my new hip.  Nic to walk without a limo for the first time in 25 years.

Now there’s a welcome flash from the past!  Great to hear you’re still at it and less gimply mobile.  That must be a joy.

Enjoy those sunsets…

Triple, maybe even quadruple for me.

Almost 5 1/2 years since my apprentice hit the trail for the rainbow bridge. Still think about her every day.

Just to say: Your posts on this site and the citings/sightings of Lucy within them, have been foundational for me on my bread journey.

I don't have a canine companion at the moment. The last one -- Zola -- left way too early 7 years ago. I miss her every day -- tho, to be honest, she was very opinionated & I'm not sure what she would have made of all the high ryes.

Welcome back and congrats on the great gait improvement!

Behold the return! Good to hear from you brownman. Sorry to hear about Lucy, I’d be a mess if anything happened my dog; Biscuit.

Well what do you know, I got one of those Terminator hips too. I guess with our Cyborg parts, Skynet will take over!

Still not Fussing, not Messing...

I’m so sorry to hear that Lucy passed. It’s hard. We lost our Golden in May this year. Totally unexpected so doubly hard.
I‘m glad to hear you are still kicking around. I checked the site a few times but didn’t see a whole lot happening from you.
As to me, the bread baking every weekend for friends turned into a job. I really didn’t want a job. I decided to take a break and it kind of turned into a more permanent thing. And doing pottery in my own studio as well as being vice chair of the local potters guild is taking up most of my time now. I’ll get back to bread eventually.

Happy to see your comment Danni and to hear that you're well, I've missed seeing pictures of your beautiful boules with yoghurt in them.

Also thrilled to find out you're a potter!

Sad about Lucy - her input was invaluable and it was alway great to hear of her adventures.  I am still baking bread but in lesser quantities these days although I don’t post often. Probably not as adventurous any more either.  You and Lucy had a big influence on my baking- awesome to hear from you

Sad to be reminded about Lucy, good to hear about the hip.  Take care of the hip by not banging it around with hard impacts and it will probably last a very long time.  I had mine 32 years ago and it's still in good shape.  At the time my orthopod said the average lifetime was 13 years!

I'm so happy to hear from you DA.  We all miss you and your amazing bakes and cooking.  I am so sorry to hear about the passing of  beautiful Lucy.  Max and Lexi are still around just having turned 12 and 11 a few weeks ago and we added Frankie right before Covid started  and Gracie a couple of years ago.

Please feel free to reach out to me to catch up if you desire.  If not, I hope to see some future bakes from you soon.

Best  regards,

Ian, Max, Lexi, Frankie, and Gracie.

Wonderful to hear from you. I've searched the site often for recent use of your name. Losing dogs is so hard because they are all love. I'm so glad you are alive and well.  Patsy

I can’t upload pictures because my files are too large and I don’t know how to make them smaller and now I remember that’s why I quit posting before when I got my new iPhone I can’t take a picture less than 2 MB sorry folks

Have you tried cropping them?

I send myself photos via WhatsApp, and then save them from WhatsApp and the file sizes are reduced by doing this.

You’ll be asked what size you want them to be before the email is sent.  I should note that I’m using Apple devices.

So sorry for your loss. We lost our Barron around the same time. I will miss him forever. He was the best friend) dog I ever had. I here tell we are neighbors? I retired to the San Tan Valley almost two years ago. ( Wow time flying) I am mostly liking it here in AZ.

Regarding resizing files. I have a cumbersome, dyslexic, analog guy. In a digital world, work around. Two options.

1. Send the photo to yourself in a phone text message. Then save it back to your phone.

2. Upload the photo to FB. Then download it back to your phone.

Both methods work a peach. Good to see you here. You were instrumental in my humble beginnings, and ultimately my love of all things bread making! Thank you for that.

The resized photo is strictly for attention. Cranberry, raisin pumpkin bread ( yeasted)

Best regards,

Will Falzon.

Sorry to hear about Lucy. Patsy & I know how a pup becomes every bit a part of the family. Mine is laying in bed with me as I write this. Hope you’ve found something to fill the void in your heart.

I haven’t been active on the forum since Hurricane Ida, but so glad to see you post to the forum. Your absence did not go un-noticed by the gang here.
