Publix Sunflower Seed Loaf Bread
Hi all,
I'm trying to find out anything I can about a bread Publix stopped making I think in 2019. It is a sandwich loaf made with sunflower seeds. My mother-in-law said she loved it, but they don't make it anymore. I've seen many recipes online for other breads, but I'm looking for any insight on this one in particular. I really only need the ingredients, but if anyone has figured out the full formula, I would so appreciate you sharing.
Thanks so much,
Lisa
You would have to figure it out. I doubt this is what you want, but I tried!
Enriched Flour (Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Iron,Thiaminemononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid),Water, Sunflower Seeds, Salt, Sugar, Soy-Bean Oil,Yeast(Withsorbitan Monostearateand Ascorbic Acid),Wheat Flour, Ascorbicacid, Enzymes, Yellow Corn Meal Added Toprevent Sticking.
Honestly, it looks like a fairly routine commercial sandwich loaf with some sunflower kernels (not whole seeds - learned that lesson!).
My advice would be to find a sandwich loaf recipe and add in ~10-15% sunflower kernels.
I've never had their Sunflower Bread and I'm not finding any knock-off attempts thru Google. After looking at the ingredient list, perhaps try an enriched (some sugar and oil) white bread with about 10-20% whole wheat flour and add the sunflower seeds. It would take a little playing with but if you have had before, you have a good chance of what direction to tweak it in.
Have some delicious fun!
