A wine cake has evolved from using left over champaign or bubbly wine.
Looking up Champaign cake will get you many recipes and you can decide to go it totally from scratch or take a cake mix and substitute the water for wine.
I thought wine cake was not easy and needed special ingredients but I was wrong.

You're lucky Stacy, no one knows how to make a perfect wine cake at home. Thanks for the recipe, it looks easy. I also use Delices and Gourmandises recipe from time to time, I just didn't notice this one.
Great. You know, you can also replace the wine by apple cider or Ginger ale. It is only recommended for dry white wine substitute in case you will need additional tips.
