Country Dill
When I was living back on the coast of Maine, this was one of my favorite breads I would get. The recipe is simple, just a regular ol' white bread with some oil added to it and then TONS of dill.
Also made some strawberry jam yesterday from strawberries we picked yesterday morning. The first jam I'd ever made and I loved it!
Just strawberries, sugar and agar-agar and lemon juice.

How much dill do you think you ended up using? Your jam looks wonderful, too.(Not sure I'd eat them together, though...that bread's hankerin' for a slab of Baby Swiss and a garden tomato.)
dill bread mixed? ;) (Me either!) But omg Tingull your bread and jam are both beautiful and are so tempting. I too would love to know how much dill and if you used fresh or dried?

For how much dill....I'd say I used probably 2 tbs per loaf. If you love dill though, definitely can add more.
and no...I didn't put the jam on the dill bread. Dunno how that would taste. Used the dill bread for our lentil burgers!

Overall, I'd say they get a 10 from me (the meat eater) and a definite 10 from my girlfriend (the vegetarian). I forgot to say I added garam masala and some ground fenugreek seed
(or one could use curry powder too).
Learn something new every day! I didn't know fenugreek was used as a spice. I have only seen it taken in capsule form for this purpose. And all I know is that it makes the person taking it smell like maple syrup! Now isn't that weird? But it's nice to learn that it's also a spice (though obviously in its natural form and not from the capsule, of course).

Ah yes...fenugreek is the main ingredient in regular "curry powder". I tend to mash up fenugreek and dried pomegranate in lots of my dinners. YUM!
I love pomegranate! I just wish it wasn't so much effort for so little result. I like it sprinkled in a fruit (or green, for that matter) salad.
So, I'm curious, do you ever smell like maple syrup after eating fenugreek? ;-)

I'm seriously "jonesin" for a burger so will look forward to this recipe. Maybe it will be an excuse to try the hamburger bun recipe floating around here...(was it Eric's?)! :D

That bread looks soooooooooo good! I absolutely love, love, love dill bread. I have yet to make it. I've only seen recipes that use dried dill weed but was wondering how it would be using fresh dill. Does anyone know?
Im sure it would be great with fresh dill. Just use a bunch more than dried dill.
I'm going to make this for sure. I have dill in the garden and swiss in the fridge but no garden tomatoes yet. Darn that browndog:)
And the strawberry jam is beautiful! I didn't plant strawberries this year but I'm going to get some from a nearby gardner and make some jam.
