Bake O Glide
I was reading some camping forums from the UK and they kept referring to a product called Bake O Glide. I think it could be a real handy product. I may be wrong, but I got the impression it would work a lot like parchment yet be reusable.
Does anyone know of an American equivalent? Thanks, Terry R.

Google "Bake O Glide" - lots of suppliers. Can be cut to size you want. Reusable, washable in dishwasher, freezer proof.
Bake O Glide is just a brand, you can get reusable parchment paper all over the place. I'm sure Amazon has several different options, you can likely find it at any decent kitchen-supply store as well.
Reusable parchment, I just wasn't sure what it was. Thanks. Only problem is, I didn't realize it was coated in PTFE. Guess I will stick with good ole foil for the grill tops to save cleaning.
That "Teflon paper", or whatever else it is made of, does not seem so appealing now, huh?
If you still want some, you can just search for some rolls of "oven liner" materials, and cut your own "pan liners".
Is this product different than parchment paper? My understanding is that parchment paper is silicone coated only.....did I miss something?

Not parchment, and primarily is not a product(specifically bakeoglide) sold in the US.
Appears to be a range of products, but an overiding feature of most of the ones for use in the oven is some sort of PTFE coated material(as swtgran mentioned above).
PTFE is another name for, and/or better known here in the US as, Teflon.

As I said, if you would like to use something that I suspect is a similar material, buy some Teflon oven liner material. You can get it online fron Amazon, ebay, etc. The literature reads awfully similar to bake o glide's.
Seems to run about half the cost of silpat baking mats.

ps: Parchment can be silicone coated paper, but it can also be coated with substances other than silicone. The cheaper products are usually coated with a substance called quilon.

Thanks for all the info. I can relax about my parchment paper now....it is just silicone on non bleached paper.
